MISCELLANY

Classical & Italian Mandolin

WORKSHOP
by Nicola Swinburne, at Thin Man Music

1506 Webster St., Alameda

Sat. Oct. 9, 11-12.30 p.m.   Cost $15

Did you know that Vivaldi, Scarlatti, Beethoven and Mozart, all wrote for the Mandolin? Come and listen to the mandolin’s most famous historic pieces. Have a look at the baroque mandolin (a kind of lute), the mandolin’s immediate ancestor, and hear how the mandolin developed into the instrument we know today. Learn techniques to develop a good tremolo technique and serenade your friends with Italian love songs.
For anyone and everyone who likes to play or listen to mandolin!
