made
by oscar schmidt, inc. jersey city, nj. an early made little parlor
(l=33.5" w=11.5" scale=22.3"), by the same company that made the
great stellas (leadbelly had one) and sovereigns. this one is all SOLID koa, and very
pretty! i replaced the binding in a few places with a similar pattern (but not
exact), and filled a small hole by the neck on lower side. i also completely
refinished (french polished) it, because it had a horrible heavily
glopped refinish on it when i got it! it has repaired cracks on the back, but
the top and sides are in perfect shape (except for the hole i patched). the neck
is also in great shape and it plays good, and intonates good, i made a new and
better intonated saddle slot and saddle for it.
