HARMONY MONTERREY MANDOLIN, $495 ALL SOLID, BIRD'S EYE MAPLE BACK, SPRUCE TOP.
tHIS IS THE NICEST HARMONY I'VED EVER SEEN, AND IN GREAT CONDITION! 1 3/8" WIDE AT THE NUT, WHICH IS WIDER THAN THE MODERN MANDOLINS. 14" SCALE. i'VE REMADE THE BRIDGE AND LOWERED THE FRETBOARD EXTENSION (THE PART OF THE NECK OVER THE BODY), SO THAT IT PLAYS EASILY UP TO THE 12TH FRET! IT HAS A NICE BRIGHT AND MATURE TONE WITH GOOD VOLUME, A KEEPER!![]()
HARMONY MONTERREY MANDOLIN $199
all solid, not nearly as good condition as the above but still good sounding and playing! the lines on the finish are fake flames (unlike the above which is untouched)
FRAMUS GERMAN "CATS' EYE" MANDOLIN $279, Exc. cond. Solid top, laminated B&S, circa a striking mandolin! nice tone and playablitity. pROBABLY MADE IN THE 50'S!
KAY? 1 POINT MANDOLIN $299
very good condition for its' age, about 1940! someone has added the jewels to the hand painted top and headstock, for a nice touch! they also added a name in jewels to the headstock, which wasn't a nice touch and I've filled and covered that. It has a very warm sound, typical of these types of mandolins (non arched top and back), which means it doesn't have the Gibson tone or volume, but nevertheless, it has a full sound AND PLAYS EASY!
(ANOTHER GREAT SETUP BY U-NO-WHO)![]()

Weymann
Mandolute circa 1910, $495
A beautiful instrument visually and tonally! Lovely flame maple back
& sides. There is a 6" crack on back which has been repaired and is
very stable, a solid instrument, plays good, with lovely tone, on the brighter
side! Tuners are the best I've ever used!

Stradolins,
Stadium $350(l.) Orpheum $400(r.)circa 1920's.
The stadium is the brighter of the two and in excellent condition.
The Orpheum has a fuller tone, more
bass and presence in general,
Both have great action and playability! (Slightly
wider neck like a Gibson)
The sound is brighter than a round hole mando, but mellower because of age.
20's Stradolin $49 SOLD, REPLACEMENT
in stock, coming SOON! An excellent mandolin
with a very
similar sound to a Gibson A style, and slightly brighter,
but not much. A very warm sound with good high end.
I remember Bill Monroe saying
"Stradolin made a pretty good mandolin". He was right!

All solid woods for warmth, presence and maximum sound with minimum effort.
Rosewood Back & Sides, Engelmann spruce top (for extra warmth)
Ebony fingerboard with dots and side-dots, and larger fret wire for longer life and fuller tone
Ebony overlay on headstock
Ebony one-piece compensated bridge, for warmest sound and woodiest tone
This mandolin is one of the best in the "low" priced handmade category. It has that warm and round sound that you get from a flattop round-hole mando (most old-timey or ethnic music lovers favorite)!

Noname Mandolin $495, circa 1920's
Longer scale than most of the oldies, which gives it more tension
and volume, while still retaining that warm and woody tone! An unusual and
especially nice piece, in excellent condition for it's age! I believe
the back and sides are birch, the top is spruce. PICS CLICK HERE!
